Construction began on the Oxley site in January 2003. The building work took 12 months and provided a totally new Primary school together with external sports and play areas, segregated pedestrian and vehicular access for car parking and deliveries. The design was reviewed to ensure a better match between the size of the school and the projected number on roll. This released part of the existing Leasowe Primary site for alternative use.
